We are thrilled to share the incredible achievements we’ve made over the past year (2023-24) at WAITS.

Here’s what we’ve accomplished in the last 12 months:

Advocacy: We provided dedicated advocacy services to 67 women, helping them navigate complex challenges and secure their rights.

Refuge Support: We supported 32 women in our refuge and proudly opened a new facility, increasing our capacity to keep women safe from abuse.

Workshops: We hosted 39 transformative workshops, attended by 69 women. These sessions covered vital topics such as self-esteem, confidence, housing, mental health, wellbeing, and more.

"We’ve helped our clients develop the skills and confidence to address their trauma, improve their mental and physical wellbeing and more"

Counselling: We delivered 146 hours of professional counselling, offering a safe space for women to heal and grow.

Befriending Support: Our volunteers provided 115 hours of befriending support, fostering connections and reducing isolation.

Helpline: Our helpline responded to 421 calls, offering advice and guidance to women in distress.

These achievements were made possible through collaborative working, the implementation of person-centred support plans, and our commitment to empowering women to achieve their personal goals. We’ve helped our clients develop the skills and confidence to address their trauma, improve their mental and physical wellbeing, navigate legal challenges, and rebuild their lives.

Behind every statistic is a woman, her children and the generations to come. Together, we are creating a legacy of freedom, empowerment and safety for women and families.
